Having just played yesterday, the HomeSchool Resource Center Patriots will jump right back in to play the Agape Christian Knights at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
After a string of three wins, HomeSchool Resource Center's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell 66-54 to Christian Liberty.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Edrick Jefferson, who scored 14 points along with six blocks and five rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last 11 times he's played. Caleb Baldridge was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Agape Christian's 31-7 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They were dealt a 73-42 defeat at the hands of Mid-Missouri HomeSchool on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Agape Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 685th in Illinois, while Mid-Missouri HomeSchool is ranked 20th in Missouri).
HomeSchool Resource Center's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Agape Christian, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.
HomeSchool Resource Center won a match that couldn't have been any closer in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, slipping by Agape Christian 57-56. Does HomeSchool Resource Center have another victory up their sleeve, or will Agape Christian turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
