Crespi have had a week off and are no doubt ready to get back on the field. On Friday they take on Sierra Canyon at Pierce College at 7:00 PM. Crespi are the clear underdogs, so they're hoping it's the size of the fight that determines this one.
Two weeks ago, Crespi came out on top in a nail-biter against El Camino Real, sneaking past 26-23. The Crespi offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the matchup anyway.
You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out between Sierra Canyon and Bakersfield. Sierra Canyon blew past Bakersfield 31-7. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Sierra Canyon had established a 28-7 advantage.
Their wins bumped Crespi to 3-2 and Sierra Canyon to 4-2. In their victory, Sierra Canyon relied heavily on junior Hunter Williams, who rushed for 57 yards and 2 touchdowns. Crespi will need to find a way to minimize his impact if they want to win.
