3A/2A Conference 3 recap October 22, 2013
South Point added to the longest winning streak in 3A/2A Conference 3 this week by beating Forestview, 49-34. The victory was the ninth in a row for the team.
East Gaston fell to Ashbrook 49-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Dontavis Walker ran for 48 yards in the loss.
Logan Bradley threw for 388 yards and 4 touchdowns. He went 32-44 with 2 interceptions.
Mykelti Armstrong was the best wideout in the league this week as the Jaguars lost to South Point. Armstrong tallied 14 receptions for 149 yards. CJ Bumgarner helped Forestview's passing attack out by catching 8 balls for 141 yards.
Forestview's Bradley and Armstrong have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-4 quarterback Bradley has thrown for 2,117 yards this season, while Armstrong has 61 catches for 839 yards. Mickey Lineberger's team's Tyler Bray leads the league in rushing yards with 1,187.
Two of the top units in 3A/2A Conference 3 will face off this week when Chris Medlin's team takes on the Green Wave. The Jaguars' offense has recorded 393 points this season, making them No. 1 in the league, while Ashbrook has permitted only 151 on the year.
At the moment, the Red Raiders are in first, while Lake Norman Charter is in fourth.
Huss led the league in scoring this week by notching 55 points on Lake Norman Charter.
