Acalanes is on a three-game streak of home losses, the Red Devils a six-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. The Acalanes Dons will take on the Mt. Diablo Red Devils at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
On Wednesday, Acalanes was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 56-52 to the Broncos. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Acalanes in their matchups with the Broncos: they've now lost six in a row.
Acalanes' defeat came about despite a quality game from Maddox Malm, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Quinn, who scored seven points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 83-38, which was the final score in Mt. Diablo's tilt against the Broncos on Monday. While losing is never fun, Mt. Diablo can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1020th, while the Broncos are ranked 209th).
Acalanes has been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-18 record this season. As for Mt. Diablo, their loss dropped their record down to 2-21.
