The Acalanes Dons scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They breezed by Concord on the road to the tune of 71-32. The victory was some much needed relief for Acalanes as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.
Acalanes' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Liam Krackeler, who scored ten points. Krackeler set a new season high mark in blocks with two. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Brown, who scored eight points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Acalanes' win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-6. As for Concord, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.
Acalanes' road trip will continue as they head out to face Santa Fe Christian at 7:00 p.m. on December 27th. Santa Fe Christian presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Acalanes in California (Santa Fe Christian is ranked 161st, while Acalanes is ranked 447th). Concord will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Newark Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024. Newark Memorial knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matches -- so hopefully Concord likes a good challenge.
