There wasn't a ton of movement in the power rankings this week, but there was certainly enough to keep things interesting. Among the action were the efforts of Viera's sophomore Bryce Norton #2, an offensive menace who scored seven total TDs.

Viera's 49 - 42 win over Cocoa last week had a lot to do with the leadership of sophomore Bryce Norton #2. Norton #2 threw for 350 yards and four touchdowns. In fact, our algorithms singled out Norton #2 as one of the top players in the power rankings for the week.
This Week's Big Showdown
The clash of the power ranking titans last week was between North Marion (89th in the MaxPreps state rankings) and Gainesville (55th). North Marion fought the good fight but suffered a stinging 24 - 21 defeat in overtime to Gainesville. North Marion and Gainesville were a much more even match than North Marion's previous opponent, giving the fans a heck of a game.
Can't Stop Won't Stop
Vanguard not only got the result it was looking for last game, but the team outscored its opponent South Lake in every quarter. Vanguard breezed past South Lake with a final score of 41 - 13. Vanguard made sure to walk the walk to justify being talked up as the big favorite. With five consecutive wins, Vanguard boasts the longest winning streak of any team in the rankings.
Movin on Up
It was onward and upward for Merritt Island this week as the team hoisted itself up 12 places in the power rankings -- the largest rise of the week -- after their most recent game. It took its game against Melbourne by a confident 34 - 6 score. That 28-point margin marks the most Merritt Island has won by all season.
