Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Thursday (62), Indianapolis Arsenal Technical still had to take the loss.
When it comes to explaining why Indianapolis Arsenal Technical lost, one person who can't be blamed is Devon Craig. Despite the final result, he scored 22 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Those 22 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Malik Sims, who scored seven points along with six steals and five assists.
Dominique Murphy was his usual excellent self, scoring 22 points along with eight rebounds for East Chicago Central. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Murphy has scored at least 25% of East Chicago Central's points. Jemeil Rich jr was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five assists.
Indianapolis Arsenal Technical's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for East Chicago Central, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-4.
Indianapolis Arsenal Technical's road trip will continue as they head out to face Herron at 7:30 p.m. on January 2, 2024. Herron is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for East Chicago Central, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Hammond Central at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Hammond Central focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 last Tuesday.
