The University Prep Griffins had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Franklin by a score of 94-86 on Tuesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
University Prep's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jermelle Cotton, who scored 25 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Cotton has scored all season. Alex Webb was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with seven rebounds.
University Prep now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Franklin, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. University Prep will square off against Greece Athena at 12:45 p.m. on Saturday. Greece Athena has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 741 points over their last ten games. As for Franklin, they will head out on the road to challenge University Prep Charter at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
