Softball Recap: Northwest Catholic Comes Up Short

Northwest Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 22nd straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 21-8 to the Avon Falcons. On the bright side, the eight- run effort marked the Lions' highest-scoring matchup to date.

Northwest Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Avon, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Northwest Catholic is set to face off against their familiar foe Conard at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Avon will challenge rival Simsbury at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
