Two dominant signal callers in Grayson Sack and Austin Scheuler are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Grand Island Central Catholic Crusaders will face off against the Bergan Catholic Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Grand Island Central Catholic is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat West Point-Beemer 49-14. The win was familiar territory for the Crusaders, who have now won four games in a row.

It was another big night for Jack Alberts, who rushed for 183 yards and four TDs while picking up 8.3 yards per carry. He didn't just play on offense: he also made five total tackles and defended one pass. Connor Haney did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 106 receiving yards.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Grand Island Central Catholic was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 292 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Bergan Catholic got themselves on the board against Wood River on Friday, but Wood River never followed suit. They blew past the Eagles, posting a 61-0 victory. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Knights just coasted through the last quarter.
Grand Island Central Catholic better keep an eye on Trent Mlnarik. He was instrumental in Bergan Catholic's win, rushing for 114 yards and three scores on only nine carries. Mlnarik got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 77 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Baker, who picked up 67 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Bergan Catholic didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Owen Koenig, Cade Pribnow, Gavin Dean, and Alex Kimminau picked up one apiece.
Grand Island Central Catholic's record now sits at 9-1. As for Bergan Catholic, their record is now an identical 9-1.
Grand Island Central Catholic was dealt a bruising 38-8 loss at the hands of Bergan Catholic in their previous matchup back in September of 2021. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Crusaders were down 38-0.
