On Saturday, the Sundance Bulldogs faced the Tongue River Eagles in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Sundance lost to the Eagles on the road by a decisive 48-29 margin. Sundance's defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
Despite the defeat, Sundance had strong showings from Jaylin Mills, who scored 16 points along with three steals, and Lexie Marchant, who scored seven points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Sundance struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Sundance's loss dropped their record down to 13-5. As for Tongue River, the win (which was their 16th in a row) raised their record to 16-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sundance will take on the Rams at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Big Horn is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Tongue River, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on February 9th.
