Littleton is 2-8 against Green Mountain since February of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Littleton Lions will head out on the road to take on the Green Mountain Rams at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Littleton suffered their biggest loss since December 2, 2023 on Friday. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 64-43 walloping at the hands of Golden. While losing is never fun, Littleton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 224th, while Golden is ranked 26th).
Treyton Fletcher put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 23 points along with five rebounds.
Littleton struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Green Mountain's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. The match between Green Mountain and Dakota Ridge wasn't particularly close, with Green Mountain falling 82-68. Green Mountain has struggled against Dakota Ridge recently, as their game on Wednesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Simon Lunsford, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Weslin, who scored 14 points.
Littleton's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Green Mountain, they now have a losing record at 6-7.
Friday's matchup is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: Littleton have been dynamite from deep this season, having only made 36.1% of their threes per game. However, it's not like Green Mountain struggles in that department as they've nailed 45% of their threes per game this season. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Littleton took a serious blow against Green Mountain in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, falling 70-37. Can Littleton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
