Baseball Recap: Palo Verde Valley Takes a Loss

If Palo Verde Valley was feeling good fresh off their 8-0 takedown of Lowry on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Palo Verde Valley Yellow Jackets took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Spring Creek Spartans on Friday.

Christian Aguilar put in work no matter where he played. He tossed six innings while giving up four earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. What's more, he gave up only two walks, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

Aguilar wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Drew Wright, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. Maddex White also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Palo Verde Valley now has a losing record of 1-2-1. As for Spring Creek, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Palo Verde Valley didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 6-4 victory against Summerville on the 1st. As for Spring Creek, they have also already played their next contest, a 9-6 win against Central on the 1st.
