Two dominant guards in Brooklyn Vick and Anthony Ferrer are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Saint Andrew's Scots will play host again and welcome the NSU University Sharks, where tip off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Saint Andrew's knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight games -- so hopefully NSU University likes a good challenge.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Saint Andrew's walked away with it. They walked away with a 78-68 victory over the Eagles on Saturday. Given Saint Andrew's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 95th, while St. John Paul II Academy is ranked 217th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, NSU University unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Thursday. They were the victim of a tough 91-67 loss at the hands of Miami Country Day. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Saint Andrew's pushed their record up to 20-6 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.4 points per game. As for NSU University, their loss dropped their record down to 19-6.
Saint Andrew's beat NSU University 66-56 in their previous matchup back in January. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Ferrer, who scored 23 points. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Saint Andrew's still be able to contain Ferrer? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
