The Lighthouse HomeSchool Warriors will face off against the Freedom C Cowboys at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lighthouse HomeSchool has given up an average of 31 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Lighthouse HomeSchool is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Alabama's top teams: Evangel Christian, who was ranked sixth at the time (Lighthouse HomeSchool was ranked 15th). The Warriors were dealt a 50-14 defeat at the hands of the Lightning on Friday. The matchup marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring game so far this season.
Although Lighthouse HomeSchool took the loss, they still got scores from JADEN COSPER and HENRY SMITH.
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Freedom C against CSTHEA on Friday as the squad secured a 38-6 win. The result was nothing new for the Cowboys, who have now won four contests by 30 points or more so far this season.
Lighthouse HomeSchool better keep an eye on Jonathan Callan. He was instrumental in Freedom C's win, rushing for 99 yards and a pair of scores. Callan also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because the Cowboys are undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise.
Freedom C didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Briggs Brady, Landon Milde, and Sterling Hershey picked up one apiece. Hershey got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Freedom C is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 10.3 points on average over those games. As for Lighthouse HomeSchool, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-3.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Lighthouse HomeSchool has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 169.2 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Freedom C struggles in that department as they've been averaging 184.1 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
