Clinton Central and Tri-Central are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2016, but not for long. The Clinton Central Bulldogs will be home for the holidays to greet the Tri-Central Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Clinton Central had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 32 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 60-34 margin over Lebanon. Given Clinton Central's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 72nd, while Lebanon is ranked 250th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Carly Davison and Sara Parkison were among the main playmakers for Clinton Central as the former dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten assists and the latter scored 25 points along with six rebounds and five blocks. That makes it four consecutive games in which Parkison has scored at least 25% of Clinton Central's points. Another player making a difference was Erika Robbins, who scored seven points.
Meanwhile, Tri-Central made easy work of Frankfort on Tuesday and carried off a 45-25 victory. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Tri-Central.
Clinton Central's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.5 points per game. As for Tri-Central, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-5.
Clinton Central came out on top in a nail-biter against Tri-Central when the teams last played back in December of 2022, sneaking past 43-40. Will Clinton Central repeat their success, or does Tri-Central have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
