Last Tuesday, HomeSchool Resource Center suffered a tough 67-43 loss at the hands of Victory Christian Academy. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for HomeSchool Resource Center in their matchups with Victory Christian Academy: they've now lost four in a row.
Despite their defeat, HomeSchool Resource Center saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Mason O'Neal, who scored 21 points, was perhaps the best of all. O'Neal scored a full 48.8% of HomeSchool Resource Center's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Caleb Baldridge, who scored 8 points along with 9 rebounds and 5 assists.
Meanwhile, Heritage Christian pushed their score all the way to 59 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Kankakee Trinity Academy by a score of 61-59. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Friday (55), Heritage Christian still had to take the loss.
Despite their loss, Heritage Christian saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Ivan Smits, who scored 12 points along with 8 rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaron Regnerus, who scored 15 points along with 8 rebounds.
HomeSchool Resource Center has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for Heritage Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-5.
Keep an eye on the arc in Monday's game: HomeSchool Resource Center have made nailing deep shots look easy this year this season, having only averaged 5 threes per game. It's a different story for Heritage Christian, though, as they've been averaging only 3.8 per game. Given HomeSchool Resource Center's sizeable advantage in that area, Heritage Christian will need to find a way to close that gap.
