Last Saturday, Eastside lost to Metamora on the road by a decisive 67-50 margin. While losing is never fun, Eastside can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 62nd in New Jersey, while Metamora is ranked ninth in Illinois).
The losing side was boosted by Jahaan Green, who scored 22 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Another player making a difference was Jalen Long, who scored nine points.
Meanwhile, Richwoods came up short against Normal Community on Friday and fell 57-49. Richwoods has struggled against Normal Community recently, as their game on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Eastside has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-4 record this season. As for Richwoods, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 13-4.
