The Orleans Bulldogs and the Northeast Dubois Jeeps will face off at 6:00 p.m. on December 8th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Orleans focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Saturday.
Last Saturday, it was a hard-fought matchup, but Orleans had to settle for a 40-37 defeat against Barr-Reeve.
Despite their loss, Orleans saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Carter Allen, who scored 13 points along with 3 steals, was perhaps the best of all. Allen is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Xavier Alston was another key contributor, scoring 6 points along with 3 steals.
Meanwhile, Northeast Dubois beat Shoals 44-32 on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Northeast Dubois.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Northeast Dubois to victory, but perhaps none more so than Grant Goller, who scored 13 points along with 5 rebounds. The match was Goller's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Adam Dooley, who scored 7 points.
Orleans' defeat dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Northeast Dubois, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Keep an eye on the arc in Friday's contest: Orleans have made nailing deep shots look easy this year this season, having only averaged 5 threes per game. It's a different story for Northeast Dubois, though, as they've been averaging only 3.7 per game. Given Orleans' sizeable advantage in that area, Northeast Dubois will need to find a way to close that gap. Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
Orleans skirted past Northeast Dubois 45-42 when the teams last played back in December of 2022. Will Orleans repeat their success, or does Northeast Dubois have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
