The Burroughs Bears waltzed into their contest Tuesday with four straight wins but they left with five. They came out on top against Glendale by a score of 49-39. Given Burroughs' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 117th, while Glendale is ranked 296th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Mariam Fahs continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 13 points along with six rebounds and three steals. The game was her fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Elizabeth Amoroso, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Burroughs' win was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-2. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 24.56 points. As for Glendale, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-7.
Burroughs will be playing at home against Burbank at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Glendale, they will head out on the road to face off against Hoover at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Hoover comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last seven games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
