With a playoff win on the line, Pueblo South rose to the challenge on Friday. They walked away with a 50-42 victory over the Conifer Lobos. The win was familiar territory for the Colts, who have now won six games in a row.
Pueblo South got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jake Pisciotta out in front who picked up 219 receiving yards and two TDs. Pisciotta showed off some serious burst, cutting upfield on a catch for 56 yards. Namon Robinson did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 170 receiving yards.
Despite the loss, Conifer saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Charlie Ostrowski threw for 246 yards and five touchdowns, and also rushed for 97 yards and one score on only 13 carries. Ostrowski is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in each of the last five games he's played. A healthy portion of Ostrowski's aerial production (111 yards to be exact) went to Mason Harrington, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.
Pueblo South's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Conifer, the defeat snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 9-2 record.
As of now, neither Pueblo South nor the Lobos have any future games scheduled.
