After each having a week off, The Clinch County Panthers and the McIntosh County Academy Buccaneers will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another at 7:30 p.m. on November 10th. The timing is sure in Clinch County's favor as the squad sits on 11 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while McIntosh County Academy has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
Clinch County put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Friday. Everything went their way against Charlton County as Clinch County made off with a 31-6 win. Given Clinch County's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 130th, while Charlton County is ranked 318th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Clinch County's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Jeremy Bell, who gained 152 total yards and two touchdowns, and Aaron Bryant, who rushed for 185 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.7 yards per carry. Bell was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield for a catch that went for 68 yards.
Meanwhile, McIntosh County Academy fell victim to Portal's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They had to suffer through a rough 27-0 loss at the hands of the Panthers. McIntosh County Academy was already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.
Clinch County's win bumped their record up to 9-1. As for McIntosh County Academy, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.
Clinch County barely slipped by McIntosh County Academy in their previous meeting back in November of 2022, winning 17-16. Will Clinch County repeat their success, or does McIntosh County Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
