Melrose-Mindoro is 9-1 against Whitehall since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Mustangs will host the Vikings at 5:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Melrose-Mindoro has three straight victories, Whitehall has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Monday, Melrose-Mindoro made easy work of Aquinas and carried off a 7-1 win. Considering the Mustangs have won seven matchups by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Bella Rozek made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Opal Buchanan was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run. Another player making a difference was Lauralee Stanton, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
Melrose-Mindoro lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in May of 2025.
Independence/Gilmanton hit Whitehall with a five-run third inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Vikings came up short against the Indees, falling 12-1.
Whitehall saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addison Poeschel, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double. Brynna Schneider also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Whitehall's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Melrose-Mindoro, their victory bumped their record up to 13-3.
Melrose-Mindoro got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in April against Whitehall by a conclusive 20-9 score. Do the Mustangs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Vikings turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
