Basketball Recap: Urbana Snags Third Victory in Last Four Games

Urbana won the last time they faced South Carroll, and Sean Pyles did his part to make sure it happened again. The Urbana Hawks skirted past the South Carroll Cavaliers 70-67 thanks in part to Pyles, who went 9 of 21 on his way to 29 points and three steals. His afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Moses Adoko, who posted 11 points and six assists. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in assists.

Urbana is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.5 points per game. As for South Carroll, they now have a losing record at 2-3.

Urbana didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 60-50 win against Francis Scott Key on the 28th. As for South Carroll, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Manchester Valley at 6:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. South Carroll is facing Manchester Valley at the right time seeing as Manchester Valley is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
