Chisholm Trail is 0-9 against Boswell since November of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Chisholm Trail Rangers will head out on the road to face off against the Boswell Pioneers at 7:30 p.m. Chisholm Trail has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since August 25.
Chisholm Trail fell victim to North Crowley's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were dealt a 77-0 loss at the hands of the Panthers. While losing is never fun, Chisholm Trail can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 772nd, while North Crowley is ranked seventh).
Boswell fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They walked away with a 36-28 victory over Crowley on Friday.
Kairel Robertson and Tye Renfro were among the main playmakers for Boswell as the former picked up 146 receiving yards and three touchdowns and the latter threw for 201 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 passes. Renfro was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 56 yards. Jack Garcia did his part by putting the 'special' in special teams, booting in three field goals and three extra points.
Chisholm Trail's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 1-8. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 7-2 Crowley and 6-3 Trinity (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 64.4% over those games). As for Boswell, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.
Chisholm Trail lost to Boswell on the road by a decisive 28-14 margin in their previous meeting back in November of 2022. Thankfully for Chisholm Trail, Ezra Carter (who rushed for 171 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.1 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
