Chilton County got a massive performance out of Macey Pierce, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. That's the most runs Pierce has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Avree Williams, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.
Chilton County lost a few balls and finished the game with four home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Calera waltzed into their match on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 victory over the Wildcats.
Stella Schilleci spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on nine hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Megan Overton was a standout: she scored two runs while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Alexi Johnson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2.
Calera's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-16. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.33 runs across that stretch. As for Chilton County, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 28-6-2.
Calera's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Chilton County has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .434.
