McIntosh is on a ten-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Jackson is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The McIntosh Demons will be home for the holidays to greet the Jackson Aggies at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Friday, everything went McIntosh's way against Citronelle as McIntosh made off with a 66-46 win. Given McIntosh's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 114th, while Citronelle is ranked 348th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Jackson scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Leroy 95-31 on the road. That 95-31 margin sets a new team best for Jackson this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Jackson to victory, but perhaps none more so than Micah Caster, who scored 18 points along with five assists. The match was Caster's eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of William Joseph Taylor, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
McIntosh's win bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Jackson, their win bumped their record up to 7-1.
McIntosh was able to grind out a solid victory over Jackson in their previous matchup back in January, winning 60-47. Will McIntosh repeat their success, or does Jackson have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
