The Dreher Blue Devils entered their tilt with the Lakewood Gators with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Dreher secured a 57-52 W over Lakewood on Tuesday. Given Dreher's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 90th, while Lakewood is ranked 211th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Dreher can attribute much of their success to Tony Baker, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 17 rebounds. Those 17 rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Jordan Brown was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Dreher's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Lakewood, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.
Dreher will head out on the road to face off against A.C. Flora at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in A.C. Flora's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six matchups. Lakewood will be home for the holidays to greet Andrew Jackson at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
