Ottawa-Glandorf is 0-3 against Kenton since April of 2017 but things could change on Tuesday. The Titans will challenge the Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Ottawa-Glandorf has three straight victories, Kenton has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Ottawa-Glandorf took a 11-run loss the last time they faced off against Miller City, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Titans had just enough and edged out the Wildcats 7-6.
Allie Sonnenberg spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on five hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Abby Giesige, who went 3-for-4 with three doubles, two RBI, and one run. Addie Kitchen also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Giesige wasn't the only one making solid contact: Ottawa-Glandorf kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Kenton didn't have quite enough to beat Lima Central Catholic on Saturday and fell 6-4.
Macee Heckathorn made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Brayla Butler was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
The win got Ottawa-Glandorf back to even at 4-4. As for Kenton, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Ottawa-Glandorf has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Kenton struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Ottawa-Glandorf suffered a grim 15-5 defeat to Kenton in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Titans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
