Glenelg has gone 8-2 against Howard recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Gladiators will host the Lions at 4:15 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Glenelg barely beat Marriotts Ridge the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Gladiators were the clear victors by a 15-3 margin over the Mustangs on Monday.
Quinn Spencer made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and two runs. That home run was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Glenelg got a massive performance out of Gemma DeWitt, who went 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those two stolen bases gave DeWitt a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ivy Jones, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.
Glenelg kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 21 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, while Howard put up plenty of runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Wilde Lake. The Lions put the hurt on the Wildecats with a sharp 14-0 win. The victory was nothing new for the Lions as they're now sitting on five straight.
Kiersten Black made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 14 over five innings pitched. Black was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Hadley Coleman was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Hailey Rosendorf was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.
Glenelg's win bumped their record up to 11-2. As for Howard, their victory bumped their record up to 9-4.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Glenelg has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 12 hits per game. However, it's not like Howard struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3.7 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Glenelg was able to grind out a solid win over Howard in their previous matchup back in March, winning 6-2. Will the Gladiators repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
