The Tandem Friends Badgers took care of business in their home opener on Wednesday (and then some). They put the hurt on Appalachian Christian with a sharp 68-47 victory. With Tandem Friends ahead 37-15 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Tandem Friends' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sincere ?Sinn? Fordham led the charge by scoring 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ty Shelton, who scored 20 points.
Several Trailblazers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jaxon Duff, who scored 21 points. Duff scored a full 44.7% of Appalachian Christian's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Beckett Waldron was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Tandem Friends' victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Appalachian Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Tandem Friends will head out on the road to face off against Randolph-Macon Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Appalachian Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Ridgeview Christian at 5:45 p.m.
