Greenfield is 9-1 against King City since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. In other batting news, Greenfield let Danny Nava and Osvaldo Gaeta run wild. Nava scored four runs while going 3-for-4, while Gaeta scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5. The team also got some help courtesy of Frankie Hernandez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2.
Greenfield was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .537. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, King City fell victim to Monte Vista Christian and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against Monte Vista Christian, falling 14-0. The game marked the first time this year in which King City was not able to get on the board.
King City's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Greenfield, their victory bumped their record up to 4-0.
King City's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Greenfield has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .638. It's a different story for King City, though, as they've only averaged .363. Will they be able to contain Greenfield's hitters?
