The Maritime Academy Charter Seadogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. Their tough 52-29 loss to Vaux Big Picture might stick with them for a while. Maritime Academy Charter found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and post 15 fewer assists than your opponent.
Despite the defeat, Maritime Academy Charter saw an underclassman step up: Zibri Miller scored eight points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaseer Mann, who scored four points along with nine rebounds.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Vaux Big Picture to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cameron Rembert, who scored seven points along with 11 rebounds and nine assists. That's the first time this season that Rembert posted eight or more assists. Another player making a difference was Kurtis Jackson, who scored 21 points along with four steals.
Maritime Academy Charter has fallen quite a ways from their 19-6 record last season and are now at 2-9. As for Vaux Big Picture, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 5-7 record this season.
Maritime Academy Charter will head out on the road to face off against Frankford at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Frankford focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Saturday. As for Vaux Big Picture, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Philadelphia Electric Charter at 3:15 p.m. That game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: Ameen Conway and Rembert.
