The Chief Sealth Seahawks will take on the Nathan Hale Raiders at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Chief Sealth took a loss when they played away from home last Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They blew past Rainier Beach 29-4.
Ava Boisoneau made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off one hit. Boisoneau was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and three RBI.
In other batting news, Chief Sealth let Maddie Moeller and Lauren Moore run wild. Moeller fired off two home runs, seven RBI, and four runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances, while Moore got on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, five runs, and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Amelia Lind, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
Chief Sealth always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .756. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rainier Beach only posted an OBP of .304.
Meanwhile, Nathan Hale posted their closest victory since April 24, 2025 on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Seattle Academy, sneaking past 15-13.
Ainslie Smith was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Caitlin Low, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, two RBI, and one double.
Chief Sealth pushed their record up to 1-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 24.8 runs over those games. As for Nathan Hale, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.
