Cane Ridge and the Raiders are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2018, but not for long. Both teams will face off at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Cane Ridge has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 259 points over their last four matches.
Cane Ridge pushed their score all the way to 55 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 66-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hillsboro. While losing is never fun, Cane Ridge can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 67th, while the Burros are ranked 17th).
Despite their defeat, Cane Ridge saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Avyion Mccleton, who scored 15 points along with two steals, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyshaun Poore, who scored 16 points.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for McGavock, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 62-48 loss to the Bobcats on Friday. McGavock has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Cane Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 13-9. As for McGavock, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season.
Everything went Cane Ridge's way against the Raiders in their previous matchup on Thursday as the Ravens made off with a 65-43 win. With Cane Ridge ahead 46-26 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
