Northeast Metro RVT took down Greater Lowell Tech 36-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Troy Tartarini threw for 140 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 42 yards in the win.
Shawsheen Valley Tech led Commonwealth - Large in scoring this week after putting up 48 points on Lynn Vo-Tech.
The Knights' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Kenny Bartolo chipped in 82 yards. Marvey Mathurin helped Northeast Metro RVT's passing attack out by catching one ball for 45 yards.
Nick Giangregorio was the best wideout in the league this week as Northeast Metro RVT topped the Gryphons. Giangregorio tallied two receptions for 50 yards.
Northeast Metro RVT's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Knights feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Tartarini has thrown for 331 yards and five touchdowns this season, while Giangregorio has eight catches for 144 yards. Bartolo leads the league in rushing with 525 yards.
Two of the top units in Commonwealth - Large will face off this week when Don Heres's team takes on Whittier RVT. The Knights' offense has scored 118 points this season, good for No. 1 in the league, while the Wildcats have allowed only 114 on the year.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Northeast Metro RVT takes on Whittier RVT. At the moment, the Knights are in third, while Kevin Bradley's team is in first.
The Wildcats made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 10,119 from 10,994. The advance stemmed from a 36-14 victory over Southeastern RVT last week.
