Baseball Recap: First Baptist Christian Academy Sets Scoring Season-High Against Halifax Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask First Baptist Christian Academy). They were the clear victors by a 23-3 margin over the Halifax Academy Knights on Friday. Considering the Crusaders have won seven contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Charles Hahn was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over two innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with four runs and two stolen bases. Those four runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Lucas Miller was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (two). Another player making a difference was Dalton Brandenburg, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

First Baptist Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Halifax Academy only posted an OBP of .333.

First Baptist Christian Academy's record is now 7-2. As for Halifax Academy, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.

First Baptist Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Halifax Academy, they will square off against Circle Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Centurions will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Knights surely won't give up without a fight.
