The Mamou Demons will head out to square off against the Notre Dame Pioneers at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
Mamou had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Crowley on Tuesday. Mamou was the clear victor by an 11-1 margin over Crowley. The Demons not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 8th.

Jaidan Richard made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. That's the fewest hits she has allowed over her last six contests. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (three).
In other batting news, Maddi Savoy was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Sarah Lacoste was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Mamou was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .556. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Notre Dame put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They never let Welsh get on the board and left with a 16-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Pioneers, who have now won 14 games by six runs or more so far this season.
The result came thanks to Bella Smith's shutout, as she gave up just two hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Malayna Daigle was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. The team also got some help courtesy of Lillian Guidry, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.
Notre Dame's win was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 13.5 runs this season. As for Mamou, their record is now 7-11-1.
Wednesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Mamou hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .332. However, it's not like Notre Dame struggles in that department as they've averaged .464. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Mamou might still be hurting after the 14-1 loss they got from Notre Dame in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can Mamou avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
