The West Las Vegas Dons put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They snuck past Pecos with a 63-57 win. Given West Las Vegas' advantage in MaxPreps' New Mexico basketball rankings (they are ranked 15th, while Pecos is ranked 60th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading West Las Vegas to victory were Jonathon Gonzales and Devaughn Kensey. Gonzales scored eight points along with ten rebounds, while Kensey dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds. The contest was Kensey's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Marcus Sena, who scored six points.
West Las Vegas' win bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Pecos, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.
