The Lassiter Trojans will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Cambridge Bears at 7:30 p.m. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Lassiter fought the good fight in their overtime match against Pope on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Greyhounds 52-47. Lassiter has struggled against Pope recently, as their contest on Friday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Cal Liston, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds. Anthony Venuti was another key contributor, scoring five points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 84-33, which was the final score in Cambridge's tilt against Kell on Friday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Cambridge has scored all season.
Lassiter's defeat dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Cambridge, their loss dropped their record down to 5-2.
Lassiter couldn't quite finish off Cambridge in their previous meeting back in December of 2020 and fell 61-58. Can Lassiter avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
