The Riverdale Ridge Ravens have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 35 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Frederick 81-30 at home. Winning may never get old, but Riverdale Ridge sure is getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Riverdale Ridge found their leader in underclassman Brihanna Crittendon, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 15 rebounds. That makes it ten consecutive games in which Crittendon has scored at least 25% of Riverdale Ridge's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklynn Charlo, who scored 22 points along with seven steals.
Despite the loss, Frederick still got an impressive performance from Zoe Wittler, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds. Those five rebounds set a new season-high mark for her.
Frederick struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Riverdale Ridge pulled down 14 offensive rebounds.
Riverdale Ridge pushed their record up to 8-2 with that win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 43.75 points. As for Frederick, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Riverdale Ridge will take on Mountain View at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Frederick, they will head out on the road to face off against Niwot at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Niwot will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 223rd, while Frederick is ranked 61st).
