The Spring-Ford Rams had to hit the road for their first game and sadly it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They took a 41-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of Delone Catholic. While losing is never fun, Spring-Ford can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 30th, while Delone Catholic is ranked fifth).
When it comes to explaining why Spring-Ford lost on Saturday, one person who can't be blamed is Anna Azzara. Despite the final result, she scored 14 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Kareena Preuss, who scored seven points.
Spring-Ford's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Delone Catholic, they pushed their record up to 2-0 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.
Spring-Ford will head out on the road to face off against Norwin at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Delone Catholic, they will square off against Trinity at TBD on Thursday.
