Last Friday, Seymour strolled past Columbus East with points to spare, taking the game 39-20. The win was just what Seymour needed coming off of a 47-0 loss in their prior match.
Seymour's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Nicholas Wheeler, who rushed for 100 yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Pennington, who picked up 143 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Bloomington South faced Bloomington North in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Bloomington South walked away with a 44-31 win over Bloomington North on Friday. The win was nothing new for Bloomington South as they're now sitting on six straight.
Jarrin Alley was his usual excellent self, throwing for 220 yards and six touchdowns. Alley is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Gavin Adams, who rushed for 190 yards while picking up 8.3 yards per carry.
Another reason for the win was Bloomington South's imposing defensive line, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. Bloomington North's QB won't forget Duke Conrad anytime soon given Conrad sacked him four times.
Seymour is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. As for Bloomington South, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 9-1.
Seymour was dealt a bruising 47-0 loss at the hands of Bloomington South when the teams last played back in October. Will Seymour have more luck at home instead of on the road?
