After a string of four wins, the Durham Trojans's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 44-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of Winters. Durham was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Winters apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Despite the loss, Durham saw an underclassman step up: Payton Santos scored 15 points. Santos has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last five times she's played.
Winters can attribute much of their success to Jordan Tucker, who scored 23 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Tucker has scored all season.
Durham's loss dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Winters, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.
Durham will be playing in front of their home fans against Colusa at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Colusa is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for Winters, they will challenge East Nicolaus at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully East Nicolaus focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Tuesday.
