After a string of 13 wins, Sanger's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 53-43 to the Panther Creek Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 227th, while the Panthers are ranked 92nd).

Sanger's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 17-6. As for Panther Creek, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.

Sanger and Liberty Christian will round out the year against one another at at 10:00 a.m. on December 30th. As for Panther Creek, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Celina at 10:15 a.m. on January 3, 2025.
