The Brunswick Pirates are on the road again on Friday and play against the Glynn Academy Terrors at 8:00 p.m. on December 8th. One thing working in Brunswick's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three contests.
Last Tuesday, Brunswick made easy work of Richmond Hill and carried off a 57-31 win.
Brunswick can attribute much of their success to Craig Battle, who scored 12 points along with 4 steals, and Heze Kent, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds. The matchup was Kent's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Butler, who scored 6 points along with 7 rebounds.
Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Glynn Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. The game between Glynn Academy and Camden County wasn't particularly close, with Glynn Academy falling 57-40. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Glynn Academy came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked ninth, while Camden County is ranked 79th).
Brunswick has yet to lose a contest on the road this season, leaving them with a 3-1 record. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points per game. As for Glynn Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-1.
Brunswick strolled past Glynn Academy in their previous matchup back in January by a score of 57-43. The rematch might be a little tougher for Brunswick since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
