Scotland/Menno was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 38-22 to the Burke Cougars.
Several Trappers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Izayah Ulmer, who rushed for 118 yards and a touchdown on only six carries, and also threw for 98 yards and a touchdown. Ulmer got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 63 yards. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Bryce Sattler, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.
Even though they lost, Scotland/Menno was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 262 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
Gentry Bartling continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Burke, rushing for 204 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 9.3 yards per carry, and also catching a touchdown. The dominant performance gave Bartling a new career-high in rushing yards. Kaleb Schonebaum also helped out as he racked up 119 rushing yards.
Scotland/Menno's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Burke, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
