Hancock has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Northern Huskies at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Hancock focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Thursday.
Hancock pushed their score all the way to 84, but even that wasn't enough to win. The matchup between Hancock and Turkeyfoot Valley Area wasn't particularly close, with Hancock falling 98-84. Even though they lost, Hancock's still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 51.4 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
Despite their defeat, Hancock saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Jacob Anderson, who scored 18 points along with two blocks, was perhaps the best of all. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Anderson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Demory, who scored nine points along with ten assists and seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Northern came up short against Southern on Friday and fell 61-49. Northern has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Hancock bumped their record down to 1-8 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.5 points per game. As for Northern, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.
Hancock suffered a grim 66-40 defeat to Northern in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Can Hancock avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
