Having just played yesterday, the Silver Bluff Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Fox Creek Predators at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Silver Bluff has given up an average of 62.3 points per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
On Wednesday, Silver Bluff took a blow against Keenan, falling 81-50. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 142nd, while the Raiders are ranked 16th).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Lance Hieke Jr., who posted ten points. Zean Dicks was another key player, putting up ten points.
Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Fox Creek over Swansea in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Predators blew the Tigers out of the water with a 75-21 final score. The Predators have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matchups by 22 points or more this season.
Silver Bluff better keep an eye on Chanze Allen. He was instrumental in Fox Creek's win, dropping a double-double with 14 points and ten rebounds. Allen has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Gavin Baskett, who put up seven points and six steals.
Fox Creek smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in January of 2025.
Fox Creek is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.7 points over those games. As for Silver Bluff, their loss dropped their record down to 13-11.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as Silver Bluff and Fox Creek are some of the highest-scoring teams around. The Bulldogs haven't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 59.6 points per game. However, it's not like Fox Creek struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 76.4 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can put up more.
Silver Bluff suffered a grim 84-62 defeat to Fox Creek in their previous matchup back in January. Can the Bulldogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
