Baseball Game Preview: Douglas Tigers vs. Bay Path RVT Minutemen

The Douglas Tigers will head out to take on the Bay Path RVT Minutemen at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Douglas will be strutting in after a victory while Bay Path RVT will be coming in after a defeat.

While Douglas' win against Sutton wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Tigers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-7 victory over the Sammies/Suzies last Wednesday. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Sammies/Suzies recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Parker Vincent was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Douglas is 2-1 when Vincent posts two or more stolen bases, but 0-6 otherwise. Colbey Begin was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and one run.

Douglas always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .526. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Bay Path RVT suffered their biggest loss since April 9, 2024 on Friday. They lost 11-0 to Uxbridge. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Minutemen were not able to get on the board.

Bay Path RVT's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-3. As for Douglas, their record now sits at 2-7.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Douglas has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Bay Path RVT struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Douglas couldn't quite get it done against Bay Path RVT in their previous matchup back in April of 2022 as they fell 7-2. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
